30 June 2017 - Burgstaaken
Well the boat's a bit more organised now and the decks are cleaner than in a long while thanks to the rigger's loan of deck cleaning solvent and a LOT of rain. It's been pissing down since yesterday afternoon and Pat's latest link (yr.no rainfall radar) shows more rain from the NE. So we slept in and have just had breakfast at 11:00 (Pat doesn't do brunch).
The fit out and launch have gone smoothly this year and keeping boat in shed for antifouling was a really good move. We are very much sold on indoor winter storage and commissioning now. The one hitch (not entirely unexpected) is the seized up engine stop cable. Pat is currently buying a new one. The induction hob is great and will be even better when we have fixed up a double socket to plug in kettle and hob simultaneously. Sails need putting on, the new tiller extension and the spray hood solar panels need mounting. Just frustrated its too wet to get on with these jobs and looking forward to getting the mainsail out of the way and on the boom.
